Here are some ways to ideas to raise money, choose the ones you wish to use:

•  Sponsorship - Ask local businesses to sponsor a race e.g. £25
  We will display their names and telephone number on screen and in the programme plus talk about them before their race

•   Entry Tickets
  People expect you to charge for entry, it also gives you an idea of how many people are attending
  Do not charge too much and put people off but don't forget to add for food if you are having any

•   Tote Bets are £1 each
  People can bet as much as the wish on as many horses as they wish in a race
  Half the money goes into the fund the other half is divided between the race winners

•   Game during the evening
  A simple game for everyone at £1 each which goes straight into the funds

•   Raffle
  It does not need to be big but it does bring in some useful money

•  Horse Ownership
  People can purchase a horse, if it wins they receive a small prize.  This is often sold before the night so that
  people who wish to support your cause can do so even if they are not going to the evening

•   Auction Race
  We auction 2 horses which are sold to the highest bidder, no one else can bid on that horse
  If it wins they receive all the winnings from that race and all the auction money goes straight into the fund

•   Sales
  In schools and community halls you can sell sweets, crisps and alcohol with a licence
